How long is the recovery after colon surgery?
First, every person heals at a different rate. Depending on the reason for surgery, abdominal surgery takes a good 6-8 weeks to get back to your pre- surgical condition. If there was any exploration done, which involves the stretching of the abdominal muscles a little more than usual, you might see some extra soreness. The key is to follow the surgeon’s instructions and not try to do to much to soon and damage what has been done. When in doubt ask the Dr.

Is gallbladder surgery serious?
This can be done laparoscopically today, which is non-invasive ( no big abdominal incision). The surgeon does 4 or 5 small incisions and puts air in your belly so he can see, and the uses tiny instruments to take the gallbladder out, and look at the duct for any stones. Once done, the air is taken out and you wake up feeling much better than if you’d had major surgery.
