Christine Veenendall, BSN, RN, CDE, is recognized as a pioneering diabetes educator, nurse, and advocate from Baldwin, Wisconsin, whose career spans more than fifty years. As the founder and manager of the Diabetes Self-Management Education & Support Program at Western Wisconsin Health, Christine helped countless patients gain autonomy in their diabetes care—introducing technologies and mentoring them in healthy lifestyle changes. Her commitment extended into the community through workshops, support groups, and fundraisers, helping under-resourced populations gain access to critical resources. Christine’s work with the Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists, including several executive roles, left a lasting mark on regional healthcare practice. Continually driven by empathy and a love of learning, she continues to volunteer in her retirement, sharing her expertise and heart with patients and colleagues alike.
