What do you attribute your success to?
- My grandmother was a nurse at Mt Auburn, and her sister was a nurse. I've always been attracted to helping people. My mother was a CNA for a while—I think it was in my blood. I also had a hospital stay as a kid with a kidney infection, and even though I wasn’t home, I liked the environment. I think my desire to help patients and put them first, as well as taking care of the families with their questions so they are comfortable, is what has helped me be successful. I love what I’m doing, and I have a desire to make the whole process for the patients and families—make their stay go as smoothly as possible. I also have a desire to make our floor run smoother and am always looking for what we could do better. I have even developed a worksheet so it’s easy to see which nurse has which patient and also developed a worksheet years ago for a bath list.
