Amber Verhel, RN
925 Kenwood Ave Duluth, MNAbout
Amber has been in the medical field for 25 years and remains passionate and committed to helping others and making a difference in the lives she serves. For 17 years, she was able to use her CNA to work in a large variety of opportunities. She worked in long term care, hospice, assisted living, home care, a ventilator unit, private care for a ventilator dependent quadriplegic, home care, adult foster care and then the hospital. While working at the hospital, Amber pursued her Bachelors in Political Science (Political Theory) with a double minor in Psychology and Gender Studies. The last year at UWS, she also worked on the prerequisite classes needed for nursing school. After a small break, she went to nursing school and has been navigating the challenges of being a parent, nurse and wife. She and her husband completed their foster care license after she completed orientation at her first RN job and shortly after Amber and her husband Aaron welcomed two amazing little boys into their lives. While fostering them, they welcomed their baby brother into the mix and later their sister. All have been adopted and are the most amazing kiddos Amber and Aaron could have ever hoped for. When not working, Amber enjoys spending time with her family, swimming, camping, hiking, photography, reading, music, cooking and being with family and friends.
