What is the educational difference between a nurse and nurse practitioner?
Thank you for the question Just consider Nurse as an umbrella Term. LPN- Licensed Practical Nurses- graduated from vocational nursing school and took the board exam RN- Registered Nurses- Educationally, they have either an Associate's or a BSN and passed the board exam. Nurse Practitioners- Educationally prepared either at the Master's or doctoral level, and they are board-certified. How long does treatment for depression typically last?
The length of the treatment of depression varies between six months and a lifetime, based on the etiology (cause of depression) and the severity which has a spectrum from mild depression that can be managed with self help tools to the most sever depression which affected the patient in all aspects of life including committing suicide. Which, in this case, needs hospitalization. The best advice I can give you is that, before you decide to stop or modify your treatment, please consult your doctor and make an informed decision. I saw clients with depression who stopped treatment when they felt better, ended up in the hospital, and started over again with their treatment. I hope I addressed your concern.

How much water should I drink for healthy kidneys?
Thank you for your question If you can divide your weight by two and change the amount to ounces, it is believed to be your daily fluid intake, which helps your kidneys, brain, and body in general. For Example, if you weigh 150 lbs, half of your weight will be 75 lbs. So, your daily fluid intake will be 75 fluid ounces. Stay hydrated, feel good, energetic, alert, and enjoy life. I hope I answered your question.

What lifestyle changes can I make to improve my brain health and reduce the risk of neurological diseases?
I just completed a training on the Brain Health Professional Certification Course from Amen University, and my takeaway from the course was that whatever you do well for your body, the most benefited organ will be your brain, and vice versa. Dr. Ameen identified 11 risk factors that affect brain health, most of which are preventable. I recommend you watch his podcast, YouTube videos, and read his book, Change Your Brain, Change Your Life. I can share some of the things that I learned. In that case, Hydration is the most important thing, that most of us ignored (remember more than 70% of our brain is water), exercise at least five days a week (increase Blood flow to our brain), avoid toxins, drugs, and alcohol; manage your weight (body weight and Braine size are inversely related), reduce stress), have at least seven hours of sleep, protect you head from injury, have supplements such as fish oil and Omega three if you know you are not included it on your diet, and get treatment if you are dealing with any mental illness such as depression and anxiety. I hope I shared what I learned and that it will benefit you. Thank you for your question!

What are the potential benefits and risks of antipsychotic medications?
Antipsychotic medications benefit the clients in managing symptoms of hallucinations (hearing voices, seeing things that are not there, the two most common ones), paranoid thoughts, manic episodes, severe depression, and anxiety that could not be managed with antidepressants and Anxiolytics. Possible side effects include involuntary movement, sedation, weight gain, and an increased risk of metabolic syndrome, agitation, dizziness, irregular heartbeat, and low BP are some of them. I want you to know that, under antipsychotics, there are several medications and a way of increasing the effectiveness and minimizing the risks /side effects of the medication. My advice will always be to consult, collaborate with the provider, and make an informed decision. I hope I answered your question.
