With a career spanning over five decades, Kathleen Toms, RN, MS Ed, MSN, CNS, VHA, CM, has become a distinguished leader in nursing, patient care, and education. She currently serves as Nursing Education/Veteran and Family Health Education Coordinator with the Department of Veterans Affairs in California, where she develops and oversees health programs supporting more than 80,000 patients and 1,800 staff members. A retired Colonel of the U.S. Army Nurse Corps, she served 30 years in both Reserve and Active Duty, earning multiple commendations and shaping innovative training for medics and nurses. Her educational journey includes advanced degrees from Elizabethtown College, Temple University, Gwynedd Mercy University, and the U.S. Army War College, reflecting her commitment to professional growth and leadership. Known for her compassion, expertise, and dedication, Kathleen continues to make a lasting difference in the lives of veterans, their families, and the broader healthcare community.
