What do you attribute your success to?
- My determination and not being willing to accept no. Its not a word in my vocabulary. Im a minister and that helps me help the nursing staff and some of the residents and their family members because I can provide spiritual support when its needed. I knew from the beginning that I wanted to do nursing from taking care of my grandmother and grandfather, and in church, we had a hospitality area that I helped with. I started as a CNA then went on to get my LPN. Working as an LPN, I felt providers didnt have respect for nurses at one point, being told at one point that you need to do what youre told. I wanted to be on the other side so I can help nurses receive the respect they deserve and get the assistance they need so that their voices can be heard.
