Dr. Kylah C. Rucker, DNP, MSN, RN, is a passionate nurse educator and clinical supervisor based in Lawton, Oklahoma. With a career that began as a high school CNA, her personal experience with family loss inspired her to pursue nursing with a focus on education and leadership. Today, she serves at Comanche County Memorial Hospital, where she leads simulation training, supervises clinical education, and mentors future nurses. Dr. Rucker is also a certified instructor for TNCC, ENPC, PALS, ACLS, BLS, and Mental Health First Aid. Known for her commitment to evidence-based care and staff development, she helps ensure that both new and experienced nurses are well-prepared to deliver excellent care. Beyond her professional life, she enjoys cooking and traveling, and credits her success to the unwavering support of her family and the many mentors who shaped her path.

What do you attribute your success to?

My mentors and my family. I actually didnt want to become a nurse, but I was a CNA through a high school program. I was helping care for my aunt and having her pass away at a young age is what made me want to become a nurse. I wanted to understand why she passed and help my family understand; I didnt want to be in a position like that again. I also had so many mentors throughout the years, and now Im able to work side by side with my mentors. My grandparents go to this hospital and I want to make sure we are all competent and up to date on the latest technologies and evidence based practices.
