  • Drug test?

A positive follicle test will go back 3 months from the date of collection. Positive amphetamines may include methamphetamine, MDMA (ecstasy), and MDEA (eve). Other false positives may come from using substances such as decongestants pseudoephedrine and phenylephrine; amphetamine is 1,3 dimethylamylamine (DMAA), which is an ingredient in some dietary and weight-loss supplements; bupropion, which is used as an antidepressant and smoking cessation aid, also is structurally similar to amphetamine. You should be able to reference your active medications for any cross-reactivity.

  • Fever after vaccine. What do I do?

For a healthy child, this is not worrisome. Fever with most vaccines begins within 24 hours and lasts 1 to 2 days. This is considered a normal part of the immune response. So, a fever after vaccination offers evidence that the child’s immune system is responding to the vaccine, and as a result, building immunity against the virus or bacteria that the vaccine targets. You should make sure they stay hydrated and drink plenty of fluids. Most research does not advocate for treating post-vaccine fevers or pre-medication before vaccines. You should seek medical evaluation if the fever reaches 104° F or higher.

  • What is ideal to put in a bath for a bed ridden patient?

Hibiclens is an antiseptic skin cleanser that is commonly used for pre-/post-operative skin washing/bathing. It can be purchased from most drug strores. It is safe for everyday use and considered a mild cleanser; however, you should avoid using this product on the head, face, or genitals. It is also not used to treat skin infections.
