Dr. Matthew Appling, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC is a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner currently serving his patients at his practice, Kaleidoscope Health LLC, with locations in Atlanta, Georgia and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. At Kaleidoscope Health LLC, they focus on screening, diagnosing, and treating mental illness in order to improve not only how their clients view the world, but also in how they view themselves. Additionally, Matthew is affiliated with Piedmont Eastside South Campus in Snellville, GA  and provides outpatient Telehealth. To begin his career, Matthew graduated from Broward College in Fort Lauderdale, FL in 2013 with his Associate's Degree in Nursing Science. He received his Bachelor of Nursing Science from Kaplan University in 2016 with honors, and in 2019 received his MSN from the University of South Alabama. He completed his Doctorate of Nursing Practice at the same institution with honors in the fall of 2021. In order to provide his patients with the best care, he specializes in mental healthcare diagnosing and treating mental health conditions including prescribing medication for condition management and offering CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) for those individuals who would benefit from counseling. Furthermore, he previously worked in an in-patient drug and alcohol detox facility from 2013-2017 in Boca Raton, FL. Since 2017, he has worked with behavioral health patients in the home setting.  In order to remain up to date in his field, Matthew is a professional member of the American Nurses Association and the American Psychiatric Nurses Association. On a more personal note, he attributes his success to having personal experiences around mental health and wanting to learn more about mental health and wanting to be able to help others in order to live a healthier life.
