Brief summary of your nursing background
Kayla Treanor started her career in health care gaining her certified nursing assistant certification during her time at Dominican University earing her bachelor's degree. During this time Kayla worked at two separate home health care companies while maintaining the educational standards to be in the honors program as well as minoring in both leadership and psychology. During her college experience she gave time to food banks, helped with flu vaccination, and blood pressure clinics in the local community. After graduating with her Bachelor degree she gained employment on a med-surg/telemetry unit. Although new to nursing, after 6 months of being hired, Kayla was training new graduates and emerging a leader on her unit. While working full-time, Kayla started her next steps working towards a master's degree. During this time she was poached by a higher acuity unit in the hospital, cardiac step-down and neurology. After nine months she was promoted to nurse manager of the unit. Soon after passing the ANCC boards she was hired at Peach Tree clinic. Kayla decided to continue her educational journey earning her doctorate. The creation of a quality improvement project to reduce the no-show rate at the clinic was successful and provided insight on attaining patient compliance with appointment attendance. Kayla started mentoring nursing students through their first years of school to support learning and self-confidence. Her next step in education and leadership is to begin training nurse practitioner students and new graduates.
