Brief summary of your nursing background

Began basic nurse training - Diploma program at the Bahamas School of Nursing (82-85), and completed a 1 yr diploma midwifery training program (00). Have worked in acute care hospitals, public/community health and ambulatory clinics, home health and private duty nursing.
Migrated to the US in 2014 worked in Rehab and ambulatory surgery briefly before returning to hospital nursing in 2016.

What made you choose a career in nursing?

A childhood dream and desire to help/care for persons...entered the profession upon completion of high school 1982.

Faith and Trust in God. Being True to my self and others. Having a personal Mission Statement.

What motivates you at the start of each day?

Everyday is a day of Thanksgiving. No matter how you feeling, Get up, dress, show up. No two days are alike.

How do you make a difference in the lives of your patients?

Providing individualized care and getting to know them on a personal level i.e. family, profession/vocation, interests, activities etc, before they became ill.their future goals/plans on discharge etc.
