Katie E. Mayberger MSNA, CRNA is an established nurse anesthetist currently serving her patients at Nassau University Medical Center as a chief certified registered nurse anesthetist. To begin her successful career, Katie attended Suffolk County Community College and earned her associate’s degree in nursing with highest distinction in 2005. From there, she earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Stony Brook School of Nursing in 2012 followed by her master’s of science degree in nurse anesthesia in 2015 from the University of New England. In order to provide her patients with the best care, Katie is currently certified in basic life support, advanced cardiac life support, and pediatric advanced life support. In addition, she is a certified registered nurse anesthetist, a certified critical care nurse, and a certified oncology nurse. Due to her outstanding work in the field, Katie has received many awards and accolades including the Graduate and Professional Student Association Scholarship Award from the University of New England from 2014 to 2015, the Outstanding Registered Nurse of the Year from Stony Brook Medical Center, Medical Oncology Unit in 2011, the Above and Beyond Certificate from Stony Brook University Medical Center, which she received in 2010 and 2011, and the Certificate of Appreciation from Stony Brook University Medical Center in 2009, 2010, and 2011. Furthermore, Katie is an active member of the Golden Key International Honor Society, Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society, Oncology Nursing Society, American Association of Nurse Anesthetists, and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. Throughout her career, Katie has been a volunteer at St. James Soup Kitchen, a Messiah Lutheran Church teaching assistant for vacation bible school, a “Flames of Hope” breast cancer awareness volunteer, and a Alzheimer’s Foundation volunteer awareness educator.
