Worked for a retail giant earning 6 years experience with 4 years as a pharmacy tech and earning my CPhT. While in nursing school I continued to work in a pharmacy setting having moved up into a hospital environment pharmacy at Redmond Regional Medical Center/Cartersville Medical Center, both HCA facilities.
I began my nursing career as a new graduate nurse in 2015 at Hamilton Medical Center in Renal/Oncology department. Moved on to Kindred of Rome, Ltac facility, that specialized in a variety of specialties including vent weening and wound care both minimal and extensive. With the opportunity to return to Redmond Regional Medical Center, this time as a nurse, I did just that and further grew my career on the Orthopedics/Neurology Area. I had the opportunity to work in additional patient care areas as needed and I did just that as deemed necessary as this helped build my knowledge base and experience. I left the staff nursing scene to continue my growth in my career in travel nursing assignments to build on nursing opportunities and further contribute to my education. As a travel nurse I have gained/added to experience in areas to include Orthopedics, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Covid, Medical Surgical, Ltac, Wound Care, Step Down and Telemetry.I have been to different states and hospital settings and have embraced different cultures and nursing techniques and practices. I also expanded my learning base adding my BSN to my learning accomplishments.

Mamie Hammock! this wonderful inspiring high school teacher who was a nurse and taught a health vocational class I took. She was amazing and taught us as if we were going into the nursing field. The field of nursing,as she taught, was empowering,a continuum of learning, and a person could in fact make a difference in others lives.
A fantastic support system, my family! My husband and children have supported me from school to career, never letting me give up or give in. Professor Ose Martinez to whom inspired me and Ms. Valerie Sullins-Vanmeter to whom showed me that despite all the negatives thrown my way I can still succeed!
Motivation takes on many forms. The more complex wounds to the unusual syndromes unlearned or never encountered motivates me. Not letting my team mates down or myself. Learning as much as I can each day, each shift, each patient.
Advocate! Advocate! Advocate! Sometimes our patients need someone else on their side that can be their voice when no one else can. I am passionate about what I do and I am always looking out for my patients and their safety, best care and best interest. Every situation is different and the NURSE is often times the only person the patient has making sure patient is in fact FIRST.
