Enhanced Outpatient Nurse - I can administer anti-psychotic intramuscular injections. I maintain a caseload of about 30 patients who I help to educate about their health, I can help them get doctor appointments, and also just provide a kind listening ear.
I spent the first 2 years of my nursing career in the hospital working on the telemetry-med surg floor. It was great experience for me and where I did the majority of my learning. However, I knew it was not my fit and I knew it was not what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. For the next year I considered many different opportunities and many different jobs, just not knowing what to do. When the opportunity came up for Hope Network, I knew it was it. I told my manager during the interview this is my dream job! I knew that I needed to be in a position where I could know my patients on a one-on-one basis and where I could tailor my education skills to them specifically. 3 months into this job and I am living the life, I wake up every single morning just loving my job and so thankful to be at Hope Network.
There is a saying always leave somebody in a better state than what you found them. I love caring for people and I love to make somebodys day better than what it was. If I can do something as small as open the door for somebody, or something as big as helping my patient get their medication from the pharmacy...I am going to go all out and do it for them. This is by far the best career choice for me and the best decision I have ever made for myself.
My family. They have been my biggest support the whole time. Always cheering me on and always pushing me to be the best version of myself.
My patients motivate me. I know that they are looking forward to hearing from me and I know that they need me to call them and check in on them. When I tell them that I am going to call, I know they look forward to hearing from me. I love working with the great team at Hope Network to get my patients what they need so that they can live a happy life.
