Brief summary of your nursing background
I started as a staff nurse then chose to travel nurse after about 4 years of experience. Travel Nursing has certainly been an education of a lifetime. I believe travel nursing causes growth, maturity, self reflection, and improvement in skills. I have worked in the emergency department and operating room. I certainly would not trade my time spent in these departments for anything.
What made you choose a career in nursing?
I felt nursing is a calling and felt compelled to answer that calling. I had originally been involved in a medical missions trip as a surgical technologist and saw how effective nursing could be. I decided then on that trip I would further my education and attend nursing school. Nursing is so diverse and has so many avenues to further growth and education.
What Do You Attribute Your Success To?
Dedication, hard work and faith. She knew this was a calling and would succeed at what she was meant to do.
What motivates you at the start of each day?
God's plan for my life. My family.
How do you make a difference in the lives of your patients?
I treat each patient as if they were a family member of mine. I feel it does not matter that status of each patient. Each patient deserves the same quality of care and treatment.
