What made you choose a career in nursing?
I needed a career that was challenging, interesting, meaningful and had many opportunities and rewards. This career brings comfort to those in need. I enjoy working with people. Nurses were in great demand while I was in Nursing School and there was no problem with job security.
What Do You Attribute Your Success To?
Determination, hardwork and accepting challenges.
What motivates you at the start of each day?
I put God first in my life, so I pray to begin my day, I then talk to my patients to find out how they are coping with their illnesses and if they have other problems that they need to discuss. (The area that I am working at now, we see a lot of cancer patient, so they need a lot of emotional support).
How do you make a difference in the lives of your patients?
The patients tell me that they enjoy talking to me because I understand and can relate to their needs.
