The International Association of Healthcare Professionals and Today’s Nurse are pleased to announce its participation with the Center for Disaster Preparedness, or CDP, a vital division of the Department of Homeland Security's, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The CDP is "committed to having an emergency response community prepared for and capable of responding to all-hazard events."

Located in Anniston, Alabama, at historic Fort McClean, the CDP provides high quality response training to state, local or tribal government emergency responders. Airfare, transfers, meals and lodging are completely funded by the Department of Homeland Security at no cost to you or your jurisdiction. You will be equipped with the critical skills and confidence needed to manage domestic events and serve as an emergency responder to protect the lives of others in times of tragedy.

The CDP offers civilian training exercises in a true toxic environment, using chemical and biological agents. This hands-on training enables responders to effectively respond to real-world incidents involving chemical, biological, radiological, explosive, or other hazardous agents. The CDP's Noble Training Facility provides a realistic environment for mass casualty decontamination, treatment and healthcare management training. This personalized instruction will empower you to serve as the nation's first line of defense in the events of terrorism and natural disasters.

Although we may have no control of when and where a disaster may occur, we can be proactive to reduce the loss of life, injury and illness. We encourage you to serve as an advocate for safety and emergency preparedness in your community. To learn more about this exciting opportunity and to register for training, please click here:
